How a made-to-order jacket works

  • Pick a jacket and read the size note on its page.
  • Place your order.
  • We contact you to discuss your measurements and other details.
  • We make the jacket. This takes about 2 to 4 weeks.

US sizes S and M are available. Other sizes are pre-ordered.

How to measure

  • Chest: wrap a soft tape around the fullest part of your chest. Go under your arms and across your shoulder blades.
    Keep it flat and level. Breathe normally.
  • Sleeve: bend your arm slightly. Measure from the end of your shoulder bone, down the outside of your arm, to your wrist bone.

Measure over a thin shirt, not a thick sweater. When we contact you, send both numbers.

If you have a jacket that already fits well, measure it too and send us those numbers.

What to check on a python skin jacket

These checks work on any snakeskin jacket, ours or anyone else’s.

  • Scales: on real skin the scales vary in size and shape. Printed or embossed leather repeats the same shape at regular intervals.
  • Seams: look at where the panels join. The stitching should be even. The pattern should meet at the seam with no gaps.
  • Inside: look at the lining and the underside. The finish should be neat. Ask the seller what the lining is made of.
  • Flex: bend a sleeve gently. Real skin bends and springs back. A surface that feels like plastic, or cracks, is a warning sign.

Several of our jackets have product videos. Use them to look at the scales and seams up close.

Care

Hang the jacket on a padded hanger, away from heat and direct sun. If it gets damp, wipe it with a soft cloth and let it dry naturally.

Do not soak it. Do not use a hairdryer or heater.

Use a conditioner made for exotic leather, and test it on a hidden spot first. Store it in a breathable cover, never in plastic.

Our supplier holds CITES export documentation for skins traded in wholesale quantity. We do not currently provide individual CITES paperwork with retail orders.
